Johannes Geyer was born in Munich. He discovered his fascination for the keys and pedals of the organ at the local church. He took piano and organ lessons, and developed his musical prowess to go on to become choirmaster and director of church music.

During his secondary school years he was accepted at the Richard Strauss Conservatory to study church music, which he followed up with the study of theology in Munich. He earned a master’s degree in choir conducting from the College of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt.

Besides these studies, Johannes also took part in directing courses for choirmasters, with Bruno Zagni in Bologna and Giorgio Kirschner from Santa Cecilia in Rome. The final concerts were performed in Ravenna.

Concert tours with various choirs took him to Austria, Italy, Russia, Canada, Australia and the United States.

In addition to his choral activities, Johannes accompanies players on harpsicord and organ performing music from the Baroque period. He supports music students as a rehearsal pianist and teaches piano and organ.

He is passionate about projects involving the spoken word and music.
